He brings audacity and dynamism to the French goldsmith mixing goldsmith and lac which he works with a secret process, creating contemporary shapes from the nature near decoration.

Olivier Gaubes du Gers and the edition

For the third century of the company “Odiot”, the company “Editions sous le vent” publishes the beautiful art book “Odiot the goldschmith, 3 centuries of history and creation”.
9 months have been necessary for Olivier Gaubes du Gers to write this wonderful book of 228 pages with 333 illustrations.

 

 

OLIVIER GAUBE DU GERS FRENCH GOLDSMITH

Certificated in Architecture from Zurich polytechnic college in 1974, he practice his job as an architect in several offices in Paris and create many projets and become an expert in building.

Man of Challenge, passionate of history of art, animated and untiring man when he speaks about Goldsmith, Olivier Gaube du Gers should worked for his father for the company “ODIOT” for a short period, He stayed 20 years and became executive chief officer!

By the fusion of Odiot with Daum, he become artistic director of Daum, and became thus responsible on many new projets for Crystal , porcelaine and goldsmith.

In 1998, he buys the company “Lapparra”, last memory of the true Goldsmith in the heart of Paris.
